The Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club is all about children! Mostly locally, but also children around the world. Our Morning Club recently held our Third Annual Kiwanis Kids Expo on March 27th. There are three main goals of the Expo: Keep children busy! Keep Children Healthy! Keep Children Safe! We had 50 booths for parents full of information to benefit their children and families. Over 700 adults attended and filled their bags with information, most with their children.
The Expo would not have been possible without lots of help, starting with the City of Bullhead City. Partnering with City Manager Toby Cotter, Chief of Police Rob Trebes, Human Services Director Jeff Tipton, Parks and Recreation Superintendent Dave Heath, Parks & Recreation Staff, the Police Department Traffic Bureau, Pool Staff and Roads Department.
Then there was an exclusive sponsor; The Laser Tag & Tri State Arcade in Riverside Resort. The owner Ajaz Ranzan loves kids and stepped up with a big check to support the Kiwanis Kids Expo for three years.
Once the word was out, there were many more that stepped up to make the Expo a huge success. Our Kiwanis Committee of myself (Larry Tunforss), Heather Petrillo, Bob Brown, Beth MacDonald, and Rick Southey. Many local businesses stepped up to make the Expo a huge success; Clay at Totally Awesome Printing, Tim at City Graphics, Culligan Water, Jena Morga at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center providing all the drinking water, Bo Kort of Kort Distributing provided hot dog buns, and Richard Berger of Weinerschnitezel provided hot dogs. Andy at Suzi Bounce Party Rentals for a super waterslide.
Media partners are so valuable; Bill at News West provided major room in the Mohave Valley Daily Mackenzie at BHC TV 4, Lynn at TV 2 also helped promote the Expo. Murphy Broadcasting & Radio Central. Five employees from Keller Williams Realty learned of the event and helped out in the food booth. Thanks to our Expo Ambassadors: Greeting all parents, passing out bags, and assisting in the food booth. The Mohave Accelerating Learning Center Key Club Members and The Mohave High School Key Club Members all served as Ambassadors.
The Mohave High School ROTC came to our rescue. The unload and lay out Friday afternoon. The set-up of EZ ups, tables, chairs, and banners Saturday morning. They also assisted with the take down at the end of the day. What an awesome group of students! Major Davis and Major Sgt. Wilcox should be very proud
The feedback from the parents, students and vendors was outstanding. We will start planning our Fourth Expo for March 2022 around August.
Thanks to all the Tri State Schools for allowing us to pass out Expo Flyers. Finally, thanks to all the parents that brought their children to the Expo, Pool, Splash Pad and Water Slide.
